10-20-2014

Coach Hudson's 8th Grade History classes begin a study of India, we will look at their culture and focus on their religions of Buddhism and Hinduism. The first Empires of India began in the Indus River Valleys the Harrapans were the first civilization but they were completely wiped out by natural disasters earthquakes and floods. There were many contributions of the early empires we still use in today's society especially in the field of math and science.

Greek Civilizations a time of wisdom, poetry, drama and art

Beginning 9-22-14  8th grade world history classes will begin a study of Greek civilization to me the most interesting part of world history. The Greeks were perhaps the smartest and most innovative people of all time, they are credited with many of our ways of thinking today our government and laws are based upon many of the Greek thoughts and ideas. Art and literature flourished in the Greek society, plays of comedy and tragedy were the main form of entertainment.Through studying Greek history students will experience a cultural learning experience that helped shape modern day societies.

World History 8th Grade

My world history classes will begin a project on Greek City-States ( Sparta -Athens) we will look at the culture, government, military and religion then we will compare it to our way of life today. Through our comparison we should be able to understand that many of our cultural, religious and military ways of life date back to these early states.Students will be required to list and compare the similarities and how they were used to form our government and basic cultural traits.

Our athletic teams are in full swing please come out and support the kids. Friday night the varsity football will be traveling to Montgomery to take on Evangel, we are off to a good start at 3-1. The players and coaches appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you at the games.
